Amharic (Ethiopian Language) Classes for Our Youth & Adults

Every Saturday, June 6 - July 25

Amharic Language Classes

Unlock the door to ancient Africa by learning Amharic. Led by Ethiopian Native, and published author Zewditu Fesseha, this class presents the ancient Semitic language and provides means to explore the culture and heritage of Ethiopia.

Participants will learn principles of Ethiopian life that can be shared at home to unite the family and connect with one of the oldest nations of the African Diaspora. The Laquech One Amharic Language Workbook can be purchased through Ifetayo before class. All ages are welcome! More >>

Alumni Association Sponsored Mid Afternoon Arts & Humanities Seminar Join an esteemed panel of African dance, drum and song legends as they discuss the state of African Diaspora Arts and how the arts ensure community development and community building.

Attendees to the panel discussion will receive passes to the FREE African dance, drum and song workshops that will immediately follow the panel discussion.

Free Herbal Nature Walk with Tioma Allison Walk with us as we explore and discuss an herbal approach to health and wellness. Tioma Allison, RN, is a certified nursemidwife with extensive experience in home birth and wellwoman gyn care for over 20 years. A graduate of Yale, NYU and Colombia, she writes on various health matters and also leads regular herbal tours, pointing out wild foods and herbs of our region. Pre-registration necessary.
